Last evening, I gave a talk on the art of writing letters to the editor of the New York Times. I think, and hope it was well received.
For those unable to attend, don't worry. You can hear my words, from first to last.
Part essay, part pieces on politics, sports and the highs and lows of life, a bit of poetry (with a nod to Dr. Seuss), and hopefully much poetic sounding prose.
I hope you enjoy.

There are really no appropriate words that express my gratitude for introducing me to your literary genius and keeping me enthralled with words of truth and wisdom.
Although I enjoy all the articles, some stand out because they either hit a nerve or are close to my own beliefs

"Train Wreck", "Scary Tales", "Donald Lays an Egg", "Out of The Shadows"(yes our loved ones are just our loved ones...a relationship no one else, no matter how close, can truly understand or share), The Gift", "The Day I Quit The Game" and "A Kid in a Candy Store".

I really loved the talk as much as I love your writing. To use your word, you bring "Schmaltz" to the highest level of artform! The piece you read about your Mom was exceptional to say the least. But after listening to it, I realized that the piece is exceptional because you are too.
Try to convince someone to let you read aloud at the 92nd Street Y or Times Talk!
You would sell out the place!

I just listened to your talk at the Ft. Lee library. Loved it! I walked along with you to visit your mom and noted all the signs and landmarks...laughed out loud at your Dr. Seuss- like verse to "muffle your mouth." ...and share your downright hatred of the orange haired monster. You take the universal human spirit and make it personal. I always look forward to your sharing.
