I have decided to stop posting my thoughts on the political issues of the day. First, I am flooded with ideas on a daily basis and I have overwhelmed you with a deluge of my comments. Too much, too many.
Second, it has caused me to distance myself from those who do not think as I do and spilled over into my close friendships. That is very distressing to me.
Going forward, I will restrict my blog to writings of a personal nature, like my continued broad incompetencies or contemplation of grandparenting. Safer and quieter.
If you want to receive my thoughts on the political trials and tribulations, if you know my email address, please contact me and I will try to oblige. For anyone else, I apologize if I am disappointing you.

True friends appreciate your candor and political thoughts. Perhaps you should have two feeds, one political and one bizarro word.
You have got yo be kidding! Does that mean I have to stop making sawdust if someone doesn’t like what I made?
I hope you reconsider. You have always adhered to the 'golden rule' that politics is an exercise in keeping people together. It is an exercise in humanity. Your words have always been about the issues that will make this a better world without insulting anyone. --RE
I have received notes from many of you. I am grateful for your comments and I hereinafter willpublish some of them. I have only given the initials of those who have written. But my heartfelt thanks for your kind words
I guess We should Thankyou for your valuable contribution in the theatre of the war against Trump. YOu have taken a a valiant stand against an inconceivably moronic President and when one day ,which I hope comes soon, the dummy falls off the wall and they can't put the pieces back together again you should get a medal to honor for the efforts you have made in this political blog. Wow. Reading your political blog was my morning routine, having the same thoughts as you do but lacking the ability to articulate as you did so well.

How could you ever disappoint anyone with your sensitive and insightful thoughts. I was the one feeling sad that I didn’t answer or write back to you to acknowledge how wonderful and “point on” your thoughts and opinions are each and every day. We have been friends for a long time and even though we mostly agreed on politics, our friendship did not appear to suffer because I did not read each and every one of your posts.
I made and lost many a friendship during my journalism career and I could not empathize more with the pros and cons of your piece this morning. Taking this break will probably offer both you and your readers a chance to reflect on the longer term and probably change some perspectives.

You sure as hell are not disappointing me!!!!! You are impressing me. I have known many, many really bright people -- had a buddy some years ago whom I believe won the Nobel Prize, but have not known another person with such an impressive mix of vast general knowledge, engaging creativity and the vivid passions that you have. And so, so high-minded. I get a huge kick out of your stuff!
I am opinionated as all get-out myself... I KNOW I am right about a lot of things that spook some people, but I don't care if they think I am weird and I hardly expect them to agree with me. (E.g I am convinced that Western religions are a real mental disease). I was going to send an apology for my out-of-the-blue alternate view of the interment of the Japanese during World War Two, but thought "no", that would be offensive -- you are far too bright to not realize that no one is going to agree totally with everything that you write. And far too bright not to find another's point of view, if supported with a reasonable bit of evidence, interesting.
I look forward to hopefully continuing to read your political commentary. As I wrote to you once before, I don't respond often -- I don't have much to add (I don't also have a Google account). And I also don't have a lot of time, as neither do you.

I am quite disappointed to see that you would consider abandoning your political blogs. For the person/persons who are upset about your thoughts on the relevant and frightening political climate that you so articulately write about--they can voluntarily 'un-friend' you. Or just choose to read the links that just pertain to family, friends, your foibles or sports. But to deprive your followers of publicly articulating what so many of us think and can't express as well, is not fair to us. I hope your hasty decision will be reconsidered.

I have enjoyed your posts and would welcome hearing your views whenever you feel like sharing. I am distressed by our president and his supporters. We have to vote and persevere in fighting for what is right for all humankind, not just the 1% and the “haters”!
